From time to time I hear statements like “direct mail kills trees” or “use less paper and save trees” I think we hear things like this because there is a huge misconception out there that the paper and lumber industries are cutting down old growth forests and that we are eventually going to run out of trees. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Trees have become a renewable resource just like corn or wheat. A tree can be planted and harvested in 10 to 12 years. On the average nationally 3-5 trees are planted for every tree harvested! Spread the word folks, Direct mail does not kill trees! In fact, it is partly responsible for the growth of American forests. Not their demise!

Welcome to the new Texas Envelope website and my personal blog. I am excited about the opportunity to communicate with our clients as well as anyone else who comes to this site. There are many exciting thing happening at Texas Envelope these days. We recently went computer to plate. This means no more negatives! Computer to plate or CTP will allow us to move much faster and improve our litho print quality. We are working on several other things that will separate us from the competition. So stay tuned! I have posted a picture of my kids. Joshua is 5 and McKenna is 9. Since it is so hot outside I thought this shot could help cool us down a bit. Even if only in our minds.
